Print Applicant for Orange County Boards and Commissions Page 2 of 2
~ ~J
individuals and communities.
Volunteer Experience: I am currently a School Reading Partner at McDougle
Elementary. I've spent several years teaching youth Sunday School classes (ages 4-12)
and Achievment Days (an enrichment program for girls age 8-12). My former
apartment manager gave me the un-official title of Social Organizer for Berkeshire
Manor Apts. Currently, I am communicating with Chrystal Fisher of the Orange
County Housing and LandTrust to aid in the organization and dissemination of
information for soon to be displaced tenants in one of Carrboro's largest apartment
complexes, that for a limited time continues to accept Section 8 Housing.
Education: I have a Bachelor's of Science in Early Childhood Education from
Brigham Young University.
Remarks: I care very deeply about affordable housing in orange county. I feel one of
my major strengths to this board would be my access to and familiarity with the
citizens affordable housing needs to reach. I live in an apartment, I am on the waiting
list for a home with the Orange County Housing and Land Ttrust, and I live and work
among srimall families, students, and the members of the blue collar base of Carrboro. I
believe I can add a unique and personal perspective to the challenges and potential for
making homes affordable in Orange County. STAFF COMMENTS: Originally applied
for Affordable Housing Adv. Board, Carrboro Planning Board and Carrbroo Board of
Adjustment 3/4/2005. ADDRESS VERIFICATION: 101 NC Hwy 54 Is in the
Carrboro City Limits in the Chapel Hill township in Orange County.
This application was current on: 03/07/2005
http://serverl.co.orange.nc.us/boards/Printlndiv.asp?AppID=2145643885 11/7/2007
