A plan to support implementation of"Complete Streets" policies related to older adults <br /> in Orange County and its 3 municipalities <br /> 2. A plan to encourage bus ridership among older adults in the rural parts of Orange County <br /> 3. A presentation using interactive GIS map locating to"tell the story" of transit hazard <br /> areas in Orange County that pose particular challenges for older adults. <br /> 4. A list of feasible "touch points" for improvement in senior mobility in Orange County <br /> and surrounding jurisdictions. E.g. changes in the built environment that would support <br /> older adults in getting from here to there <br /> Tasks to include: <br /> • Identification of existing"Complete Streets" plans within county and <br /> municipalities. Interview local planning leaders to explore interest in a workshop where we <br /> could learn what our 4 jurisdictions are doing around Complete Streets, all with an eye for <br /> particular needs of the older adult population. <br /> • Conduct literature search and interview local key informants to identify strategies to <br /> promote implementation of these plans and to make sure that they include the needs of older <br /> adult residents <br /> • Make suggestions for advocacy on the part of OCDOA leaders <br /> • Search literature for use of public transportation strategies for older adults <br /> • Conduct focus groups to better understand facilitators and barriers to use of public <br /> transportation by rural older adults <br /> • Make suggestions on ways to promote bus ridership among older adults <br />
