AGENDA ITEM 7 r <br /> A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING COOPERATIVE REGIONAL PURCHASING <br /> WHEREAS, The Board of Commissioners of Orange County, N.G. sees the need <br /> to maintain efficient local services at the lowest possible purchasing costs; <br /> and, <br /> WHEREAS, The Board of Commissioners of Orange County, N.C. realizes the <br /> value of cooperative regional purchasing in saving money and exchanging <br /> importent procurement information in other regions throughout the country; and, <br /> WHEREAS, The Board of Commissioners of Orange County, N.C. realizes the <br /> importance of selecting the bid proposal that is most advantageous to the needs <br /> of the people of Orange County, N.C.; and, <br /> WHEREAS, authority for such cooperative purchasing by local government <br /> units is found in Article 20 of Chapter I60A of the General Statutes of <br /> North Carolina, <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of Orange <br /> County, N.C. that the Director of Purchasing and Central Services is authorized <br /> ..-to participate with other jurisdictions in Region ,3, Council of Governments <br /> in cooperative purchases that the Director deems advantageous to the needs and <br /> budget constraints of the government of Orange County, North Carolina. <br /> ADOPTED THIS DAY OF <br />
