s Agenda Item 2: Sketch Land Use Plan The Planning Director gave a brief progress report on the development of sketch land use plans for Hingham and Hillsborough Townships including the developmental districts and locational criteria which are set forth on page 712 of this book. He also showed maps of Bingham and Hillsborough Townships which indicated watersheds, existing interest and proposed interests, development possibilities, and sketch plan categories. Agenda Items 3-4 Planning Issues and Goals u . f Mr. Fred Luce, of the County planning staff, reviewed issues and goals of Bingham Township and Hillsborough Township as developed by Bingham and Hillsborough Township Advisory Councils. For copies of these goals, see page 715 of this book. The Chairman of the Planning Board called for questions from the audience at this time. Mr. H. B. olive suggested distinguishment be made between towns outside and inside the County. Mr. Robert Earl expressed concern about the recognition of the needs of agricultural land. Mr. Ed Johnson, Bingham Township Advisory Council, expressed his concern the County Commissioners might short circuit the planning processes by extending zoning in the near future and asked the Board members to state their feelings on this issue. He asked whether interim zoning might createlegal problems or whether it might limit freedom of action after the land use plan is completed. Agenda Items 5-6 Non-Residential Land Uses Mr. Keith Rosemond reviewed non single-family residential land uses in Bingham and in Hillsborough Townships. For copy of these listings, see page 721 of this book. Mr. Ben Lloyd asked how much non--residential growth had taken place in the last 24 months. He said he did not feel the growth was too rapid. Mr. Robert Nichols asked how much acreage would be zoned commercial or mobile home zoning under existing use when only a portion of that acreage is used for commercial or mobile home purposes. I -6-
