r
Mr. David 5hanklin asked if there were sections other than
the proposed amendment of 15.2.3 which dealt with extension of
zoning through a township. He asked how various townships would
be notified about extension of the zoning ordinance. He said he would
like to see better notice requirements.
Ms. Alice Durham suggested property owners be notified along
with their tax notice.
Mr. Robert Earl expressed concern over better notification
requirements. He suggested a fixed foremat to advertise all County
information.
Mr. Mike Woods, member Eno Township Advisory Council, said he
would not like to see zoning extended into other townships until a
reasonable land use plan was completed.
Mr. Ben Lloyd encourged citizens to become more involved and find
out what is happening in the County.
Mr. Lin Cates told the audience to look around them to see what
is happening.
Mr. Lindsey Efland suggested additional methods of notice be used
other than just the newspaper.
Mr. Andrew Dobelstein said the County needed to be sure public notice
reached all the public.
Commissioner Willhoit suggested notice be an administrative requirement
rather than an amendment to the ordinance. He requested suggestions
from the township advisory councils and Planning Board about getting
better notification to the public.
Mrs. Barbour stated ten days was not adequate notice and suggested
posting notice in other places in addition to the Courthouse bulletin board.
Mr. David Shanklin said he would like all information regarding notification
grouped in one section of the ordinance. He expressed his objection to
extending the zoning ordinance into townships without posting notice_
Mr. B. B. Olive questioned the distinction between absentee owners and
local owners. He stated some consideration should be given to absentee owners.
