Hill was presented by Mr. Jerry <br /> Passmore, Executive Director of Council on Aging. The summary <br /> included (1)a statement of the problem, (2) possible locations, and <br /> (3) recommendations. The following ideas were expressed <br /> by citizens of Chapel Hill and Carrbora at Public Hearing <br /> Meetings. <br /> (1) it was recommended that the Senior Center be in <br /> a new building rather then a renovated existing building. <br /> (2) Senior Citizens from the multi.-Purpose Center in <br /> Chapel Hill felt that their building should be the Senior <br /> Center rather than u satelite center. <br /> (3) It was felt by many that the building should be <br /> located near communities having older adults who would <br /> be more likely to use the variety of services proposed by <br /> the Council on Aging. <br /> (4) Many suggested that there must be adequate parking space <br /> at the Senior Center and that the Senior Center be near public <br /> transportation.. <br /> (5) irany favored the centralized-decentralized conception, <br /> (over) <br />
