Acting as a liaison with appropriate state and federal agencies which <br /> are concerned with energy- <br /> 7, Undertaking studies as requested by the Orange County Board of Com- <br /> missioners or other units of local government in Orange County. <br /> g, Establishing energy conservation goals for Orange County; .ai?d,j <br /> developing and recomm6nding to local units of government a comprehensive <br /> long-range county energy policy to achieve effective use of present and <br /> future sources of energy. <br /> Section II. Membership. The OCEC Commissioners shall serve tv)o year terms <br /> expiring June 30 and shall consist of -ten voting members. Four of such members <br /> grill be appointed by the Orange County Board of Commissioners, and one member will <br /> be appointed by each of the following: <br /> University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill <br /> Hillsborough Town Board of Commissioners <br /> Chapel Hill Board of Alderman <br /> Carrboro Board of Alderman <br /> Orange County School Board <br /> Chapel Mill-Carrboro School Board <br /> Ar; Members shall not serve more than three consecutive two year terms. <br /> B. Any vacancy on the OCEC Commission shall be filled by the Board <br /> which made the original appointment and shall be for the unexpired portion <br /> of the term being filled_ <br /> r. positions for members) will be advertised and interested parties should <br /> submit their resumes to the appropriate governing body C-ies), <br /> D. In making appointments the [bards should favor appointees who are- <br /> a. Interested, experienced, or trained in energy conservation management_ <br /> b� Residents of Orange County. <br /> c. Representative of County residents and energy issues, <br /> d. i4illing to <br /> exert the effort to effectively with the <br /> lemma <br /> ir.y <br /> section III. Sub-Committees. The OCEC Commission may establish sub-committees <br /> to provide techinical and other advisory assistance to the OCEC Commission. <br /> Appointments to such a sub-committee may be made by the OCEC Commission, Persons <br /> appointed need not be members of the OCEC Commission, <br /> Section IV. Orange County will provide the OCEC Commission With staff support from <br /> the Energy Office. Committee members and volunteers will not b e paid for their <br />
