Hanes <br /> Or:,nge County Board of Education <br /> On motion by Mr. Strickland, seconded by Mrs. Hill , the following <br /> resolution was passed by a vote of 3-2 at a special meeting of the Chapel <br /> Hill-Carrboro Board of Education held on Monday evening, June 18, 1979: <br /> The Chapel Hill-Carrboro Board of Education requests the <br /> Orange County Commissioners to authorize a bond referendum for <br /> capital improvements to provide necessary funds to meet the <br /> capital needs of the Chapel Hill-Carrboro school district, the <br /> Orange County school district, and the Orange County government, <br /> with the stipulation that the amount allocated to the two <br /> school districts be equal and that the amount allocated to <br /> the Chapel Hill-Carrboro schools be at least $7,000,000. <br /> Voting in favor of the resolution were Mr. Strickland, Mrs. Hill , and <br /> Mr. Caldwell . Voting against the resolution were Mr. Riddle and Mrs. Insko. <br /> Absent were Mrs. Sockwell and Mr. Parrish. <br />
