Comment: <br /> The amended 217(b) requires that Community action boards <br /> I <br /> shall now .consist of not less than fifteen members. The <br /> first change assures for the first time, a representative <br /> minimum as*well ,as maximum level of participation on all <br /> community action boards. In addition the one-third of <br /> the board who are elected public officials must be current <br /> 7y holding office. <br /> The second change expresses the intent of Congress that <br /> elected public officials do not hold terms on the board <br /> ear se but that they serve on the board in their capacity <br /> as e'iected officials. i <br /> Grantee boards must be in compliance with this subsection <br /> within forty days from publication. t I <br /> C...
