For exariplc, we consider it particulaxly per-L tinent that the To,,,in of Chapel Fill has not requested the 1).C.T. to inalude the wideninC of the 15-501 bypass in the seven Plan. In other words, the Town is trying to solve its traffic Problems by means Of a Southern "Bypass at the expense of the citizens in this area of the County without addressin- the r2ost important approach -to a solution, na-mely the vietenin,;T of the 15-501 bypass. The Town is doing this despite the strong erieence that the traffic con-estiori on the 15 •501 bypass is attributable largely to•loc�al traffic which Fill not be zJgnificantly relieved by the Southern Bypass. We also -ire concerned to learn that the Public hearin- on tj-,e SOU'611017P PYPass mill not be before the Roard of Transportation which is the �:ecision-malkin- body. 7e also wish to thanl� the Board Of County Commissioners for the stron-cr stand which the 'Board took regarding the requ=Mst of the Town of Chapel fill for extension of the town's planning district beyond the Previously este.blished boundary. t'i'e are pleased that our senators and representatives in tl-'e State Legislature refused to introenjoe legi.rila•bion aUthoyizing the requested extension.
