NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of <br /> ORANGE county in conjunction with the Boards of <br /> Commissioners in the other five counties that the Governor of North <br /> Carolina request that the Secretary of Commerce of the United States <br /> designate the counties of Orange, Wake, Durham, Johnston, Chatham, and <br /> Lee as an Economic Development District, the purpose of which is to assist <br /> these counties in meeting special problems, to promote economic develop- <br /> ment, and to establish a framework for joint city, county, state <br /> and federal efforts toward providing the basic facilities and services <br /> essential to their growth and attacking common problems and needs on <br /> a coordinated and concerted basis; <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that upon such designation as an Economic <br /> Development District, the Board of Commissioners in each of the respec- <br /> tive counties aforementioned (will take any reasonable steps to meet <br /> federal requirements necessary to carry out the general objectives of <br /> an Economic Development District), while adhering to the policies of the <br /> State of North Carolina and the United States. <br /> This Resolution adopted this the 20th day of March, 1979 <br /> Attest: <br /> R, zo h <br /> Perk Oranqe county J Chairman {)range County <br /> Board of Commissioners Board of Commissioners <br /> (SEAL) <br /> Please return to: TRIANGLE J COUNCIL OF GOVERNMENTS <br /> P. 0.
