E
i
i
BE IT RESOLVED that the residents of the area known as the
Southern Triangle of Orange County and residents of the adjoin-
ing Northern Chatham County areas do hereby endorse continued
planning for these areas by their respective counties as they
already have quality planning organizations. We further resolve
that we oppose the extension of the Chapel Hill Town planning
area to include the Southern Triangle of Orange County and
Northern Chatham County.
SOUTHERN BYPASS:
BE IT RESOLVED that the residents of the Southern Triangle of
Orange County and Northern Chatham County do oppose all pro-
posed routes for a bypass to the South of Chapel Hill because
a valid need for the proposed bypass has not been established.
Furthermore, the proposed bypass would interfere with our desire
to maintain the semi-rural nature of this area;
ALTERNATIVE TO SOUTHERN BYPASS:
BE IT RESOLVED that the residents of the area known as the
Southern Triangle of Orange County and residents of the adjoin-
ing Northern Chatham County areas do hereby endorse that the
State utilize lands already purchased for four--lane highway
construction from Eastgate to Morgan Creek in Chapel Hill and
further endorse continuing the four-laning of Route 15--501 south
to Pittsboro as a most practical tax-saving measure,
4
