G.Mi.w G tt.
Orange County Manager
- East Margaret Lane
= - Hillsborough, North,Carolina 27278
Dear Sam: _
Richard and I certainly enjoyed meeting with you and
Neal yesterday. I thought our meeting was very productive
and I feel confident that we were able to pinpoint several
projects that MICA can be of great assistance on. I
thought it might be helpful if I gave you my notes from
our meeting.
Listed below are the potential projects that we identified:
Z. Cost Allocation Plan - We can work with Neal on a step
by step basis to determine if an approved. Cost All.aca7-
tion Plan will provide additional revenues for the
County. If, after our analysis or after our work is
completed, Neal determines that a Cost Allocation Plan
is not in the County's best interest, then we stop
working on this project and MICA receives no fee for
the time we have invested in the project. (This guaran-
:_tee applies to all of our projects)
2 Automation of Eligibility Determination Your Director a -
said he was very open-•minded. about this project. Again,
A :,twe will take a `step py;step approach toward automating
service. Our systems analysts and our management
?:;,:'specialists can really -give you the additional manpower
and expertise"to determine if this service can benefit
.,the County and DSS recipients, and we can provide the
resources necessary to implement the project if you decide
to automate the eligibility process.
3. Food Stamp Issuance - 'The County's food stamp equipment
is old and may need to be replaced. MICA can examine
alternatives and help the County select the equipment and
process to expeditiously and efficiently distribute food
stamps.
MANAGEMENT IMPROVFMENT CORPORATION OF AMERICA.617 MOREHEAD AVENUE-DURHAM.NC 27707-919-688-15574
