6. The measures Needed, Estimated Cost, ane Financial Plan for Accom lis
Suter q V
In y Improvement
See attached table.
7. Potential for ACP to Assist in Gettin2 Needed Land Treatment measures
Carried Out
The RC&D project is scheduled for 8 years, but the "ACP Special Fund,"
part of the assistance could easily be handled on a 3-year basis. The total '
funds requested is $171,730 and we feel that there should be a requirement that
all conservation practices must be installed in a period of one year or funds
would be obligated to someone else.
8. USDA Technical Assistance and other Funds or Programs that will be Used
to Im lement the Project
To meet the objective of this project, farmers who want to be involved
must be cooperators of the Orange Soil and Water Conservation District. With
the assistance of all local agencies - ASCS, SCS, NCFS, Extension Service and
other local agencies, a conservation plan will be developed for the protection
and maintenance of all practices to be cost--shared. Farmers will be responsible
for performing operation and maintenance. After the conservation plan has been
developed, an operation and maintenance agreement will be entered into between
the Orange Soil and Water Conservation District, ASC County Committee, and the i
A
Cooperator.
Operations and maintenance work will normally include such actions as
annual application of fertilizer to maintain vegetative cover, replacement of
t
spot loss that endengers the installation, repairing fences, replanting trees,
clearing debris that affect operation of works of improvement, sealing or
repairing structures to prevent deterioration, and reseeding or resedding to
ensure stands of cover and vegetative control of undesirable plant growth.
i
