BRANCH <br />BANKING & TRUST COMPANY (BB&T) Commercial Lending Officer (September <br />1987 to May 1988) • Generated new corporate loans and deposits with cotnpatues in <br />Greensboro and Guilford County. • Marketed non-interest income bat~lc services <br />including insurance services, cash management, deposits, Letters of Credit, and tntst <br />accounts for middle market clients. • Reviewed business clients' credit worthiness for <br />new loans and renewals. ~ Prepared all loan documentation and loan proposals. <br />CREDIT SUISSE Commercial Lending Officer: Chicago and New York (August 1984 <br />to September 1987) • Originated new corporate loans with Fotfiule 500 industries <br />throughout the Midwest states; drafted Stand-by Letters of Credit, Bat~lcers <br />Acceptances, cotntnercial paper backup, foreign exchange lines and revolving credit <br />lines, and overnight loans/investments for fines' daily cash management. • Analyzed <br />the credit quality of major industry groups such as nuclear utilities, bat~lcs, food <br />processors, airlines and defense contractors. Wrote and presented all loan proposals <br />and renewals. • Quoted overnight investment and borrowing interest rates to support <br />clients' daily cash management transactions; made short-term secured loans of up to <br />$2S million. • Participated in numerous complex credit analysis transactions including <br />recapitalizations, merger and acquisition financing, and bat~l~ holding company <br />lending. • Completed an intensive commercial lending training program at Credit <br />Suisse in New Yorlc. <br />Volunteer Experience: I have served it past years as president of the North Carolina <br />Boys Choir, which is traditionally comprised primarily of young men from Orange <br />County. I have also served as an ex officio board member for the North Carolina Japan <br />Center in Raleigh, which is part of North Carolina State Uiuversity. <br />Education: UN7[VERSITY OF NORTH CAROLINA AT CHAPEL HILL Bachelor of <br />Arts (May 1984) • Major in Economics; Minor in Asian/Japanese Studies. • Financed <br />100% of education through savings and employment. Advanced Economic Development Course (May <br />1996) CREDIT SUISSE International Commercial Bank Lending Program: New Yorlc <br />Branch Office (April 1985) • Completed a 12-month study in managerial and cost <br />accounting, financial statement analysis, money and banking, international economics, <br />and foreign currency trading. • One of seven trainees selected out of 450 applicants. <br />Remarks: I am a native of the Triangle area (Durham County) and have been a <br />resident and taxpayer in Orange Couty for the past 20 years. My two children leave <br />attended the Chapel Hill public school system daring this time, and oiu family <br />considers Orange County our permanent home. Consequently, I would enjoy offering <br />any suppport or expertise in my relevant work skill toward Orange County's goals <br />realted to economic development or city and regional planning.
