AGENDA ATTACHMENT Iv M" "aw- <br /> RELEASE OF 1967 PERSONAL PROPERTY TAXI=S <br /> In keeping with the established policy of Orange County to carry receivables onl3 <br /> ten years for unsecured Personal Property Taxes, it is recommended that the board re- <br /> lease the 1967 Personal Property faxes. $6,339.94 remains as of dune 30, 1978, after <br /> collections of $41 .17 in FY1978. This will not prevent the collection of these taxes <br /> should the taxpayer voluntarily pay then. $170 was collected for all .years prior to <br /> '67 during 77-78. Your action merely removes these from the books and improves the <br /> "uncollected" picture as it is shown in the financial statement. The following re- <br /> solution should be recorded in the minutes. <br /> "Whereas the Orange County Board of Commissioners has determined that the 1967 <br /> Personal Property Taxes outstanding at June 30, 1978, are uncollectible, therefore: <br /> Be it resolved by the Orange County Board of Commissioners, meeting in regular <br /> session on July 24, 1978, that the unsecured taxes on Personal Property for the <br /> year 1967 be released from the records of the Orange County Tax Collector and the <br /> Orange County Finance Office to be effective as of June 30, 1978. <br />
