MEMORANDUM <br /> TO: Board of Commissioners <br /> FROM: Agatha Johnson, Clerk <br /> RE: Discussions of the July 3, 1978 Sheeting <br /> DATE: July 13, 1978 <br /> The following items were discussed by the Board of Commis- <br /> sioners at the Monday, July 3rd meeting , and directions were suggeste, <br /> to the staff of ways in which to proceed. <br /> Water Resources - <br /> The oard felt a report was needed from the County's Water <br /> Allocation C mmittee of where the Committee stands and what is planned <br /> for the future. The County Manager was asked to contact John Wray <br /> with the Department of Natural and Economic Resources to determine <br /> how the County might tie into the State ' s water Resources Framework., <br /> He was also sked to investigate the availability of funds and other <br /> resources fo dam safety. These funds could be used for construction <br /> to the Lake range Team. The Board talked about developing a mechanism <br /> to coordinat water resource planning for the entire County, to attempt <br /> to bring tog' ther plans for developing ok" ptbserving all th.0 sites for <br /> future use. <br /> CETA Program <br /> The oard appointed the same members to the County!s Employ- <br /> ment and Tra ping Council as were appointed to the Durhgm- Orange <br /> Council.. Th s interim board should meet before July 24th. and' pre- <br /> pare a recom endation of which option to proceed with, it is import- <br /> ant that the e be no gaps in the administering of the CETA program. <br /> This item wi 1 appear on the fourth Monday night agenda, <br /> Plan ing -- <br /> (Extr territorial Request) <br /> The Manning Staff will present to the Board a formal written <br /> proposal of he recommendation from the Planning Board concerning the. <br /> ext.raterrito ial jurisdiction request of the Town of Chapel Hill , A <br /> new proposal. has been presented to the Board of Aldermen and the <br /> Chapel, Hill Flanning Board and both Boards have adopted the recommenda- <br /> tion. After the Board of Commissioners review the proposal, you will <br /> decide whether or not a public hearing is necessary, <br />
