AGENDA ATTACHMENT I <br /> June 23, 1978 <br /> Demo To: Orange County Board of Commissioners <br /> From: Neal Ev,inI Finance Director <br /> Subject: Pro im.ed Budget Amendment <br /> The attacwd, proposed budget amendments are generally to provide sufficient <br /> funds in area; t. at have been exceeded in the course of on-going operations. The <br /> increases are hi line with the items estimated to be overspent in the budget document <br /> Consequently E.h(! e increases have no effect on the fund balance estimated to be <br /> available for appropriations in 78-79. <br /> To explain some items that may not be clear 1) The County Commissioners <br /> other expense is n appropriation of revenues from the Human Resources Conference <br /> and other miscellaneous items to cover the cost of the Conference; 2) The Recreation- <br /> Cultural Arts-Per onnel is to appropriate additional revenues particularly for the <br /> special children' camp; 3) The Daycare-WIN increase is to provide the additional <br /> budget to meet th costs incurred by liberalizing participation requirements; fundin <br /> is 907, Federal . ) Daycare-Special (Frank Porter Graham), Foster Care-Special Needs <br /> Adult Service- Day are and 'Transportation are all items reduced to reflect non- <br /> implementation or decreased programs with corresponding revenue decreases; <br /> 5) General Assistance is increased by donations and additional family planning <br /> revenues, the Social Services Department has been paying for abortions from this <br /> account and the State will reimburse 100%. 6) The additional School Capital Project: <br /> Funds are to reflect additional costs from the sale of the bonds particularly the <br /> New York attorney fee. <br /> Additionally four departments have requested the transfer of funds to provide <br /> greater opportune ies for expending accrued year end balances. These are not in- <br /> eluded in the pro osed amendment: <br /> Planning <br /> 0I fi ce & Audio-Visual Equipment 1 ,000 <br /> Health <br /> Autos 10,000 <br /> Slpplies & Equipment 10,000 <br /> Inspections <br /> Equipment 1 ,000 <br /> Recreation <br /> 2 Air Conditioners 650 <br />
