Upon motio!he of Commissioner Pinney, seconded by Commissioner Willhoit <br /> 6 . it was moved an adopted to tentative approve the Title IV--D Budget for <br /> 7. 1978--,1979 with conc?ition that the Board has the right to withdraw <br /> 8- approval, of any portion of the budget if circumstances dictate. <br /> 9. Item 8 : The Tax Supervisor requests the Board approve- a tax refund <br /> 10. of $109 .63 to Donald R. Smith. <br /> 11. Upon motion of Commissioner Walker, seconded by Commissioner Pinney, <br /> 12. it was moved that the tax refund of $109 .63 be granted to Donald R. Smith , <br /> 13. Discussion ensued. Commissioner Willhoit asked if the cost of adver- <br /> 14. tising incurred by the County would be recovered. <br /> 15 . The County Manager stated no cost had been incurred in this case. He <br /> 16 . requested that the Board ask the Tax Supervisor to explain the circumstanc <br /> 17. regarding this tax refund request. <br /> 18. Upon motion of Commissioner Willhoit, seconded by Commissioner Pinned <br /> 19, it was moved and adopted to table this item until the Tax Supervisor could <br /> 20. be present at the meeting. <br /> 21. Item 9 : The Board of Elections requests a supplemental budgetary <br /> 22 . appropriation o $7, 600 to facilitate processing challenges recently filed <br /> 23. The County Mana er informed the Board that this is an estimate of what <br /> 24 . monies will be needed to perform the work necessary to process the chal-- <br /> 25 . lenges. <br /> 26 . Upon motior of Commissioner Willhoit, seconded by Commissioner <br /> 27 . Gustaveson, it was moved and adopted to approve the requested $7,600 by <br /> is <br /> 28 . the Board of Elections, and this money/to come from the Contingency Fund. <br /> 29. Commissioner Gustaveson stated he was deeply concerned by the reGkles <br /> 30. action of abtisi g the sacred system of voter challenging. He asked that <br /> the Board officially request the County Attorney to look into the oossibi-- <br />
