SECRETARY Mr. Joe Bradshaw Administrative Assistant to County Manager Orange County Hillsborough, NC 27287 Re : Transit Development Grants Dear Mr. Brad haw: Thank you for your letter dated February 3 , 1978, in which you responded to uy January 127 1978, announcement regarding the avail- ability of fu ds for state-Local transit development grants . My staff and have reviewed your suggestion that a County Trans- portation Coordinator be hired, and think that this idea is an excellent one and would be able to significantly help coordination efforts in Orange County. Accordingly, have enclosed two forms--PTDW01 and PTD-02--which you should co' plete and return to me in order to apply for funds to support a Coll ty Transportation Coordinator for twelve months . We are requesting a 10 percent .local contribution towards the total costs , so this $1,500 should be reflected on the forms . Since this would be a nejT position, the contribution would have to be in the form of cash. In order for me to bring your application before the Board of Trans- portation at is April 147 1.978, meeting, I will need to have the completed for s no later than Monday, April 31 1978. Otherwise , the application w 11 have to wait until. the Board meets again on May 19 , 1978. Please be adv sed that we also are considering funding County Trans- portation Coordinators in Chatham and Lee Counties and a part-tune Regional Trap portation Coordinator with the Triangle J Council of Governments. We will expect the Orange County Transportation Coordinat to work very losel.y with all three persons .
