Projects to be funded from <br /> this 1150 ,000 (and any fonds W ema,knin g from thy: other $910,000 <br /> after providing the watch for all federal planning and capital <br /> grants coming to North Carol.i�na) will be recommended to the Nort <br /> Carolina Board of Transp+�xtation for its consideration between <br /> now and .tune 1978, and will generally fall in the following <br /> categories: <br /> Category 1 - Servi.cY improvements <br /> Category 2 - Servic : Marketing <br /> __- Category 3 - Conferences and Professional Training Programs <br /> Category . projects (Beryl ceIoem° s)and but and not be limited �..o, demonptra i n P ax <br /> bus pri.ari.ty techniques A urban areas , and ampl.oymznt-related <br /> bus service and human service transportation coordination in <br /> rural. areas. . <br /> Category 2 projects (Se'rvice .Z4arket� ) would_include the devel <br /> ppment of a statewide pu 1c transportation image--3mprovei9 "t <br /> program and its subsequent implementation is the major public <br /> transportation market areas of the state. . <br /> Category 8 projects (Conferences and Professional Trains <br /> Pra tams) would include a) one or more conzeroaces on i ssiles <br /> a zecting public transportation in North Carolina; and (b) the <br /> development of specialized training programs aimed an transit <br /> employees , transit magagers , local. planners , local. elected .offi, <br /> cials and others who play important roles _in the provision of <br /> public transportation services. <br /> All projects involving grants to local. communiti.e.s -wi_l.l b.e _of <br /> limited duration, and will not require additional state funding <br /> past the project termination dates.
