erati.n Guidelines forlow'nship Advisory Councils <br /> Orange County Planning Board <br /> A. Size: The Plann" g board shall not limit the size of each Advisory Council. <br /> 'g—ow—ever' , each t ship Council may determine such a limit provided that it <br /> be large enough to ensure representation of the township. <br /> B. Structure, Rule of procedure: Each Advisory Council shall elect those <br /> officers which alre necessary for the operation of the Council. Officers <br /> shall be electO for a one year term and may succeed themselves for one <br /> term. Each AM ory Council shall also determine a quorum and voting <br /> majority. <br /> C. Official meetings: No vote shall be taken on any matter except at the regular <br /> monthly meeting hich shall generally conform to the monthly schedule <br /> approved by the Ianning Board and agreed upon by each Advisory Council. Any <br /> exception to the above shall be resolved by a conference,of the Planning Board <br /> Chairman, a Pla ing Board member of the township requesting the exception, <br /> and the Chairman of that township's Advisory Council. <br /> D. Term of appointm nt; The Planning Board shall replace those Council members <br /> whose terms have expired by sel.ecting.from a list formed by Advisory Council <br /> suggestions, public solicitation for interested people, and any other means <br /> of identifying q al.ified and interested persons. However, the township <br /> Advisory Councils shall. not officially nominate replacements for those <br /> members whose to ,s have expired. one half of the original. Advisory Council. <br /> shall be appoiut d for two year terms and the other half shall be appointed <br /> for three year t rms, beginning October, 1977. Thereafter, all appointments <br /> shall be for two year terms. <br /> E. Replacement of i divi.dual vacancies: The Planning Board shall appoint a <br /> replacement to, f ll each vacancy due to resignation or failure to serve. <br /> Each Council shall determine the number of consecutive absences allowed before <br /> a member is repl ced. A vacancy shall not be considered for replacement <br /> until the meetin fol'l'owing the one at which the vacancy is announced. In <br /> filling vacancie , the Board shall maintain a representative Council.. <br /> Replacements for a township Advisory Council shall be selected by the following <br /> method. <br /> The Plannin Board member(s) and the Advisory Council Chairman of the <br /> township shall p esent a name or a list of alternatives to the Advisory <br /> Council for comm nt. The name or the list shall then be presented to the <br /> Planning Board fir appointment. <br /> A Planning oard member shall always have the right to nominate additional <br /> names for the PI n,n ng Board provided that those names be presented to the <br /> Advisory Council for their information prior to the Planning Board's consideration <br /> i <br /> of the appontme t. <br />
