AGENDA ATTACHMENT III
26 October 1977
Mr. .Scam C7'add 5
Orange County' . Panager
105 E. Usrpa et Lang:
Hillsbarough NC 27273
Tear Mr. Gad is:
1T xring our meting with you an 22 September 1976, we jointly identified
the stream to be included in the Orange County Flood Insurance Study;
however, as t7e moved further into the study, we found that several of
the i.dentift streams do riot appear to be important from a flood stand-
point hecaus of rather limited drainage area'. The upper study limits
of addition st eams appear to extend beyond the limits of significant
flooding. These questionable streams are shown on the zap that our
;r.
Batchelor .eft in the planz'14g office on l8 October 1977.
Ta accordanca with our instructions frm the Federal ±usurance
Admirastra.ti n., we propose to delete these streams from the study.
However, if you .feel that any of these streams are important in your
flood plainmanagement considerations, despite limited draina;e area, we
will be glad to look into the par'ticulax circumstances with you ire order
to assure t t the ultimate study scope is adequate for the intended
puxposes.
lie would appreciate your early response regarding these proposed dele-
tions since r field surveys, which are in progress, must be adju.stRA
accordingly.
If you have aestions regarding this matter or other aspects of the
study, pleas a advise.
Sincerely yours,
B. F. LNG RAM
Chief., Flood Plain Mauagemumt
Services Branch
