.Y <br /> AGENDA ATTACHMENT 22 <br /> ADDITION OF HOT NIGHT MEAL AT JAIL <br /> At present, one cook is employed at the County Jail„ This person comes <br /> to work at 6:30 R.M., prepares breakfast, lunch and sandwiches for supper. <br /> She leaves. work at 1 :15 P.M. Salary and benefits for this position come to <br /> $5.12 an hour. It has been suggested a third hot meal be served at the jail. <br /> The cost of this service is estimated as follows: <br /> Salary and Benefits for cook @ $5.12/hour for 2 hours a day 312 days <br /> a year $3,135. BALANCE FOR THIS YEAR $1 ,600 <br /> Cost of food at $1,80 per meal with an average population of 22 for <br /> 312 days a year $12,355. BALANCE FOR THIS YEAR 5,177 <br /> i_ <br /> TOTAL $7,777 <br /> The actual food cost to the County would not reach the sum shown here, <br /> as some saving will be achieved by not having to prepare the sandwiches <br /> currently being served for the evening meal. <br /> The County's current budget provides $15,000 for board and provisions at <br /> the jail.
