F1' i a <br /> 2,2,4 Tenure <br /> The tenure of office shall be three years with the right to be <br /> reappointed for a second full term. <br /> Appointments shall be made so that approximately one-third of <br /> the terms expire each year, <br /> Appointments to fill vancies shall be for the unexpired term. <br /> 2,2.5 Attendance At Meetin s <br /> Any member of the Board who misses more than three consecutive <br /> meetings, for more than one quarter of the meetings, in any <br /> twelve month period, for something other than an approved absence <br /> as determined by the Cahirperson shall lose their status as a <br /> member of the Hoard and shall be replaced by the Board of Com- <br /> missioners. <br /> Absence due to sickness, death of an immediate family member <br /> or similar reason shall be considered approved absences and <br /> shall not affect the member's status, <br /> in the event of long illness or other cause for prolonged <br /> absence, the member shall be replaced. <br /> 2.2.6 Rules of Procedure <br /> The Board shall adopt and adhere to Rules of Procedure for <br /> the conduct of its affairs. <br /> Among other matters the Rules of Procedure shall provide for <br /> the office of Chairperson and Vase Chairperson, whose term of <br /> office shall be one year, with eligibility for re-election. <br /> A quorum for conduct of business of the Board shall be a <br /> majority of the appointed members. <br /> The Rules of Procedure shall, require the Board to meet at least <br /> once a month and provide for the calling of special meetings as <br /> the need of the Board requires, <br /> 2.2,7 Meetings <br /> All Meetings of the Board shall be open to the public and the <br /> Board shall cause notices to be given as required by Chapter 65 <br /> of the North Carolina statutes, as amended. <br /> 2-3 <br />
