t <br /> i <br /> ADDENDUM (continued -3T <br /> Commissioner. No other member of the Board should serve <br /> more than two (2) consecutive terms , or six (6) years , <br /> without one ( 1 ) year break in service. Vacancies should <br /> be filled for the unexpired term only, by appointment by <br /> the County Commissioners, <br /> 4. The Board should be granted authority to adopt By-laws , <br /> for the conduct of its business including the selection <br /> of appropriate officers and regularly scheduled meetings . <br /> ' 5. Board members should serve without compensation, except <br /> for reimbursement of travel and subsistence for attendance <br /> at meetings , conferences, workshops, etc. , in compliance <br /> with general policies of the County for such reimburse- <br /> ment. <br /> II. DEPARTMENT ON AGING <br /> A. Functions : <br /> 1 . to plan, coordinate and evaluate County programs <br /> and policies with respect to needs of older persons ; <br /> 2. to cooperate with local , regional , State and f=ederal <br /> agencies on program funding and development; <br /> 3. to manage County facilities that serve as senior <br /> citizens centers ; <br /> i 4. to provide direct services that are appropriate to <br /> the needs of the older citizens of the County; <br /> 5. to negotiate contracts with public and voluntary <br /> agencies for services to older persons ; <br /> 6. to serve generally as an advocate in promoting the <br /> health and welfare of the older citizens of the County. <br />
