V
AGENDA ITEM # 14
The County has been billed for two change orders at the
Human Services Center that have been discussed with the Board
but we find no formal record of their approval in your minutes.
A) Modification to the Thermal Windows.
You will recall the thermal windows originally proposed
for this project did not receive approval of the Historic District
Commission. The windows as originally proposed had three panels
of glass and no mullions, The Commission required windows of
two panels (double hung) with mullions, This modification cost
$6,630 and was reviewed with the Board, at least informally, last
fall.
B) Rock in Shaft of Elevator I.
Our construction contract at the center carries a rock
excavation clause. In August, rock was encountered in the shaft
of elevator II, At that time, the Board approved a contract
modification for $1,760. The shaft for elevation I was dug in
the early winter. The contractor again encountered rock. The
--architect has approved a $4,000 payment for this work.
rA
