2 <br />Staff is requesting $5,000 to offer a program series that encourages people to be active. <br />Recreation and Parks has offered fee based lunchtime programs targeting County <br />employees in the past. Mixed results have been experienced due to necessary fees <br />charged. The funding would help to reduce fees charged. No other County Department <br />offers a program of this type or name. <br />Triangle Community Foundation -Request for funds (approximately $1,200) to <br />purchase an LCD projector. The projector will be used for training of coaches;, <br />parents and officials. <br />Baseball for Tomorrow Foundation -approximately $50,000 Target Project: Fairview <br />Park Baseball/Softball Field. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: No matching funds are required other than those already available <br />within individual project budgets. <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board authorize staff to pursue <br />these grant applications. <br />
