C. <br /> 27275 <br /> Rzc}rann CC'H[TA'F'1,CBsim..un <br /> N10FLN -Ir WAL=R <br /> SORY[AN GUSrAVEMN <br /> D ',stmm W:LL"Orr <br /> AN-Sn BAXJ4Z3 <br /> A RESOLUTION REQUESTING DESIGNATION OF A PORTION OF ORANGE COUNTY AS A <br /> %O�DIIMITY EMPLOYMNT CENTER" UNDER THE STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA'S BALANCED <br /> GROWTH POLICY <br /> WHEREAS, the Balanced Growth Policy of Forth Carolina, encourages <br /> economic progress and job opportunities throughout the State in a way designed <br /> to assure a healthy and pleasant environment and to preserve the State's <br /> natural resources; and <br /> IMEREAS, this Policy provides for the designation of growth centers <br /> throughout the State, in an attempt to carry out the Policy; and <br /> WHEREAS, Orange County has initiated a land-use planning process and <br /> has as part of that process adopted the following goals related to growth, <br /> economic development and community facilities: <br /> (1) Direct growth to those areas where growth is deszreable <br /> and suitable to accommodate it. <br /> (2) Economic development which emphasizes local employment <br /> while preserving the character of communities and pro- <br /> testing the natural environment. <br /> (3) Provision of water and sewer lines in those areas which <br /> i <br /> can be practically and efficiently served by these <br /> facilities. <br /> THEREFORE, the orange County Board of Commissioners RESOLVES that <br /> Orange County request that the area shown on Map A be designated as a "Coumuni.ty <br /> Growth Center" as part of the State of North Carolina's Balanced Growth Policy. <br /> iE <br /> i _ 1 <br /> RICHARD-E.
