For that reason, it <br /> felt like there was more pressure than we wanted to try to pay and schedule artists who would accept <br /> payment. We know the option to offer payment is essential—with no funding until May of this year, we've <br /> offered just 12 performances January-April. But we are seeking to scale back to $3,000 this year. We will use <br /> Chapel Hill Service League funds through October, and then hope to use OC Arts Commission funding to <br /> see us through June 2016. <br /> Notes About Our Application <br /> Family House does not maintain artist resumes, and so we have not included those details here. The <br /> enclosed posters are a sample of what we display in the House to encourage guests to attend. If you visit <br /> our Facebook page (address below), we post videos of many performers, and so we encourage you to view <br /> those as samples of our program offerings. <br /> Most significantly, in 2014, we shifted from a calendar to a fiscal year (July-June). The budgets I have <br /> enclosed are from 2013 calendar year, 2014 calendar year, and our "new" 2014-2015 fiscal year (July-June), <br /> and so there is a 6-month overlap reflected (Jan.-June 2014). We are currently creating our 201.5-16 <br /> budget, which will be available by mid-June should you wish to consult it. We are striving to keep our <br /> expenses stable and therefore anticipate little to no increase from 2014-15 fiscal year. <br /> Also regarding our budget, in addition to our operating expenses, each year Family House puts essential <br /> funds into capital replacement and reserve funds. As an organization that has no debt, nor has it ever, we <br /> are extremely careful to plan for the future. Eight years into our operations, we are beginning to experience <br /> significant capital replacements—from installing ADA-compliant toilets to replacing worn flooring and <br /> updating plumbing and HVAC systems, our House requires constant upkeep. You will see those reserves <br /> reflected in the budgets included with this application. <br /> We are extremely grateful for your past support, and all of the wonderful county support you've provided <br /> including beloved hats from the Visitor's Bureau. We hope that you'll once again consider us a worthy cause <br /> to support. Our families truly appreciate this program and the support that enables its existence.
