2. Fees are charged for recreational, social and business use whether for public or private <br />use. Orange County, x:XX and ~~XX agencies are not charged for use of facilities <br />unless the county must pay staff to monitor and or secure the facility. In these cases, <br />the applicant will be responsible for staff and/or other costs associated with the use of <br />the facility. <br />3. Fees for facility reservation and use will not be waived by the Department of <br />Recreation and Parks, the County Manager or the Board of County Commissioners. <br />4. The Recreation and Parks office will assign staff as it determines maybe essential to be <br />present before, during and/or at the conclusion of the event/activity and the permittee <br />will be charged overtime rates as well as for any materials and supplies used for this <br />service. <br />5. The permittee will be held liable and billed accordingly for restoration costs if damage <br />or losses occur to county property as a result of the permittee's use. <br />6. The permittee may be responsible for hiring and paying off-duty law enforcement <br />officers, emergency services personnel, or others if required as a condition of the <br />permit. <br />VI. CANCELLATION OF RESERVATIONS <br />1. Orange County reserves the right to make cancellations at any time. Cancellation <br />notices will be issued as far in advance as possible. Ail reservation and usage fees will <br />be returned in full if a cancellation is initiated by Orange County. <br />2. Any cancellation made by the permittee within seventy-two hours of the scheduled use <br />date will result in forfeiture of the reservation fee. <br />3. Refunds, due to inclement weather, will not be issued for Recreation Facility and <br />Picnic Shelter Permits unless the County Manager closes county offices. <br />4. Should an Athletic Facility be closed or unplayable due to inclement weather or other <br />unforeseen circumstance, the person or group making the reservation will be given the <br />option to reschedule. If no suitable date can be rescheduled, full refunds of reservation <br />fees will be given. <br />VII. USE OF PARKS AND PARK. PROPERTIES <br />The following conditions are applicable for all activities and events proposed for Orange County <br />Recreation and Parks facilities and properties except those activities and events sponsored by the <br />Department of Recreation and Parks or undertaken by the department during the course of duty. <br />1. Individual facilities in parks may be reserved through the process outlined above. If <br />available, multiple facilities such as a picnic shelter and a ballfieid may be reserved by <br />the same entity at the same time. <br />2. Areas within parks or on park properties such as a meadow or open field may be <br />reserved as long as the proposed activity is determined by the Recreation and Parks <br />Director to be appropriate use. <br />
