The Children's Art
Educational Area has been very successful and wonderfully received. It often has so many children
that the parents pitch in to help, and activities spread beyond the tables onto the lawn. We will
continue to hire visual and performing artists that will be offering direct interaction with the
younger audiences. Tim Wells will be the Children's Program Planner for Last Fridays. The multi-
talented Tim is a teacher with experience in early childhood and middle school and a professional
musician. He has provided children's programs at festivals and parties and will bring his creativity
and expertise to enliven our own Last Fridays this year. In addition to Tim and the assistants he
enlists,we pay a clown and a potter to demonstrate their skills and entertain.
This year's new Last Fridays Chairman, Thomas Watson,is increasing outreach efforts to
Blacks/African Americans through contacting and involving churches, vendors, and bands with ties
and greater appeal to that community.
As part of our efforts to reach the Latino Community, the Family Success Alliance will have a table
at Last Fridays with a Spanish language translator.
Our mission is"to enrich our community through the arts." We would like to continue bringing
educational opportunities to the public through existing venues, including Last Fridays.
6 Application Checklist (do not staple, bind, or put into individual folders)
Please include the following materials in your application packet in the following order:
1 copy each: (only 1 sided, 81/2"x 11", white paper) and 1 complete electronic copy(in PDF
format):
Applicant Information Sheet (Page One of Grant Application Form)
Narrative
Budget Sheet
• Itemized Budget (if necessary)
Signature Page
• Resumes of key artists and administrators involved in grant funded program(s).
2013-14, 201415, 2015-16 Organizational Budgets.
• Artist contact list, including names, address, phone numbers, and email (if applicable) of all
artists involved in grant funded activities.
Staff roster with position title(s).
Board contact list, including names, address, phone numbers, and email (if applicable) of
organization's board of directors.
Copy of IRS Tax Exemption Letter.
Sample programs, press, or other materials from this or similar past programs.
• Sample work by key artists, administrators, or teachers produced in the last three years:
For example, for visual arts submit a PC-compatible CD or DVD, slides or high quality photographs
(5-10 images); for dance or theater arts submit a PC-compatible CD or DVD, or video tape (3-5
minute sample); for music and spoken word submit a PC-compatible CD or DVD, or audio tape (1-
2 selections); for literary arts submit a manuscript (10-15 pages).
Label all sample work with artists'/organizations' name, title of work(s), date of work.
