2 <br />Element Lead AdvisorL Boards (FLAB) - ELABs completed their first round of meetings with <br />Clarion Associates to hear and review draft gap analyses and tables of contents for their <br />respective Elements. Clarion has made revisions in response to FLAB input and the <br />resulting draft Comprehensive Plan Table of Contents is provided as Attachment 3. <br />Website - htt~:://www.co.orange.nc.us/plannin /cLcompre cpupdate.asp <br />Numerous items have been added to the Comprehensive Plan Update website. A few <br />examples include: Materials from the October 16th Joint Advisory Boards Meeting to "kick-off' <br />Phase II, notice of the January 28th Public Input Session, and draft materials presented by <br />Clarion Associates to Advisory Boards. The website continues to be a great source of <br />information, which the public is encouraged to use. <br />What's Next: <br />Public Input - In response to recent public requests, the following meeting has been <br />scheduled to provide an additional opportunity for the public to provide input on the <br />Comprehensive Plan Update before a draft is compiled and presented to County advisory <br />boards for review, comment and revision: <br />"Comprehensive Plan Update -Public Input Session" <br />January 28, 2008, 7:00 PM <br />Southern Human Services Center <br />2501 Homestead Rd., Chapel Hill <br />In addition to the meeting above, public input meetings will be held in April 2008. Specific <br />dates, times and locations will be forthcoming early next year. <br />BOCC -Planning Staff and consultant will. provide the next report to the BOCC in early-. <br />March 2008. In April 2008, the BOCC will consider the approval of the Legal Ad for the May <br />19, 2008 Quarterly Public Hearing to present the draft Comprehensive Plan Update. <br />Planning_Board - In January, the Planning Board may be discussing any guidance it wishes <br />to provide staff and Clarion Associates on drafting objectives for the Land Use; Services and <br />Facilities, Housing and Transportation Elements. <br />Element Lead Advisory Boards (FLAB) -FLAB members will be invited to attend the <br />January 28th Public Input Session to hear comments from the public. The next round of <br />FLAB meetings with Clarion Associates will take place in March 2008. At these meetings, <br />Clarion Associates will present the draft Comprehensive Plan Update to Advisory Boards for <br />review and feedback. Advisory Boards will have March and April to complete their pre-public <br />hearing review. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: There is no direct fiscal impact associated with this presentation. <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board hear the presentation, ask <br />questions, and provide feedback as may be appropriate. <br />
