Alton is a product of a similar NDI-affiliate program in his home state of Texas, beginning <br /> the in-school program at the age of 9, having had no previous dance or performance experience. He <br /> demonstrated such commitment that he was chosen by NDI founder Jacques d'Amboise at age 15 for a <br /> scholarship to the NDI Teacher Training Program.The following year, Alton assisted the Director of the NDI <br /> Summer Institute. He went on to assist with the Texas affiliate program while finishing high school and <br /> attending college at the University of Texas in Austin,graduating last year with a B.A. in Communications. <br /> Since January 2008,Alton has been conceiving,orchestrating and scripting the NC AIA in-school <br /> programs, and collaborating with Music Director Julie Bradley on original music for NC AIA in-school <br /> performances.Alton Directs the NC AIA Alumni program, LEAP Team (Learning Excellence and <br /> Perseverance), comprised of students from all NC AIA partner schools,who perform at many community <br /> events and serve as ambassadors of the NC AIA program. <br /> Julie Flinchum Bradley, Musical Director <br /> Julie is a graduate of NC School of the Arts and UNC-CH. While still in school, she began working as <br /> assistant to conductor McCrae Hardy at NC Theatre, and spent a fulfilling 20-year career there. She is very <br /> involved in area opera, community theatre, and youth education, including NC Theatre Conservatory, <br /> Peace College, Opera Company of North Carolina, Wake County Public Schools, Raleigh Conservatory of <br /> Music, Carolina Ballet and Chapel Hill Ballet School. Her work as orchestrator and arranger includes such <br /> clients as Ipo Productions, the Jimmy V Celebrity Classic and Going Barefoot, Inc. She also served as the <br /> orchestra contractor for NC Theatre and as orchestra contractor and musician at DPAC. <br />
