~~ <br />Attachment <br />Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) <br />for the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program <br />As required under Section 603 of Title VI, Violence Against Women and Department of Justice <br />Reauthorization Act of 2005 Amending Section 5(A) of the U.S. Housing Act of 1937. <br />The Orange County Housing Authority will assist and provide support to families that are <br />victims of domestic violence, dating violence and stalking in order to enhance their quality of <br />life, increase staff and family awareness, exercise discretion, sensitivity and excellent customer <br />service when providing agency services and/or referrals. <br />The Orange County Housing Authority will provide decent and affordable housing for victims of <br />domestic violence, dating violence and stalking; make referrals to agency partners based on <br />client needs; and educate Orange County staff and clients on the seriousness of domestic <br />violence in order to enhance quality of life. <br />Services/Programs/Activities: <br />1. Keep a current list of Orange County Housing Authority domestic violence victims. <br />Upon approval by client, the Authority will conduct periodic visits to residents for <br />detection ofnon-reported domestic violence. <br />2. Make agency referrals to agency partners based on clients needs. <br />3.
