A philosopher, in his own way. <br /> Has a leg injury which renders him incapable of walking. Often speaks in iambic <br /> pentameter. Age:17 <br /> 4. Luna(Michelle Xia): The youngest. Babied by Madeleine. Doesn't care to find out too <br /> much; ignorant of fact but not of people. Caring for all. Doesn't remember her parents. <br /> Age:1 l <br /> 5. Frank(Michael Combs): Old, wanderer, lonely, kind and compassionate. Doesn't always <br /> make sense when talking. He alone has come to terms with the state of things. He alone <br /> has lived before The Sick. Age:70+ <br /> Scene 1 - The Clime <br /> (Opens on Dawn, Madeleine, Luna, and Socrates sitting in a circle, on boxes. The setting is a <br /> dark, abandoned room in a broken-down barilding. There is a campfire(?) in the center. Dmm <br /> has her hand placed on a simple metal box-shaped machine. Socrates sits slightly apart. Luna <br /> watches Dawn and Madeleine. Madeleine examines a slip ofpaper feeding out of the machine). <br /> Socrates: I am one of the few honest people that I have ever known. <br /> Machine buzzes angrily. <br /> Madeleine (pulls the paper feed further oast and examines, reading): It says... true. <br /> Dawn: Must be broken. When have you ever told the truth? <br /> Madeleine: You wouldn't be able to tell the difference Dawn. <br /> Dawn: Shut up, I'm not stupid. (To Socrates) Don't smirk, being Madeleine's favorite doesn't <br /> make you special,just her brother. You're full of shit. <br /> Socrates (dryly, sadly): Perhaps iamb, it's not my place to tell; (condescendingly, mockingly) of <br /> us, who understands our present clime? <br />
