Currently I am a <br /> stay-at-home mom and volunteer regularly at the Samaritan Health Center in Durham. Through <br /> my training and the various settings I have practiced medicine within (skilled nursing facility, <br /> hospital, private practice, uninsured clinic, rescue mission)I feel like I have a seen the needs of <br /> many different populations. I believe these experiences as a physician (and my background with <br /> a public health education)will give me a unique perspective of the health needs of Orange <br /> county. <br /> Reasons for wanting to serve on this board: <br /> I would like to serve on this board for several reasons. Firstly, I would like to be involved in <br /> improving the health and wellness of the residents in Orange County. As well, I see this as a <br /> time of great change in our health care system (in terms of insurance coverage and delivery of <br /> care). With change comes great opportunity for improvement. Being on this board will give me <br /> the opportunity to develop a more in depth knowlege of the needs of the county and be a part of <br /> the team to establish creative solutions to meet these needs. <br />
