I have experience <br /> working with people with substance abuse issues. I also have addressed underage drinking in <br /> the community-both on the high school and university level. I worked with other agencies and <br /> organizations in the county that provide alcohol related services-underage drinking education <br /> and prevention, detox, treatment, and support to families. <br /> I retired from the Chapel Hill Police Department in 2007. 1 served as crisis counselor, <br /> administrative assistant, and police analyst. The police analyst position included the following <br /> duties/functions: maintaining the departments€TMs computerized records system, supervising <br /> the Information Technology Unit, serving as the public information officer, crime analysis, and <br /> planning. <br /> I am familiar with North Carolina alcohol laws, as well as municipal and county government. In <br /> my position as Police Analyst, I wrote department policies, including those related to operations, <br /> alcohol enforcement, and personnel. <br /> Reasons for wanting to serve on this board: <br />
