1 <br /> ORANGE COUNTY <br /> BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> ACTION AGENDA ITEM ABSTRACT <br /> Meeting Date: June 16, 2015 <br /> Action Agenda <br /> Item No. 4-a <br /> SUBJECT: Proclamation Recognizing Carrboro High School Women's Soccer Team <br /> Winning the 2015 State Championship <br /> DEPARTMENT: BOCC PUBLIC HEARING: (Y/N) No <br /> ATTACHMENT(S): INFORMATION CONTACT: <br /> - Proclamation <br /> Donna Baker, Clerk to the Orange <br /> County Board of Commissioners, <br /> (919) 245-2130 <br /> PURPOSE: To consider a proclamation recognizing the Carrboro High School Women's Soccer <br /> Team for winning the 2015 State Championship. <br /> BACKGROUND: On May 30, 2015 the Carrboro High School Women's Soccer Team captured <br /> the North Carolina High School Athletic Association's (NCHSAA) 2A State Women's Soccer <br /> Championship. <br /> Under the guidance of Coach Jared Drexler, the Carrboro High School Women's Soccer Team <br /> earned its second NCHSAA State title, also winning the State title in 2012. The team's 2015 <br /> record was 21-0-1. <br /> FINANCIAL IMPACT: None <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board approve the attached <br /> proclamation recognizing the Carrboro High School Women's Soccer Team for winning the <br /> 2015 State Championship and authorize the Chair to sign the proclamation on behalf of the <br /> Board. <br />
