Orange County: Buckhorn Village <br />Spin-Off Businesses <br />Each economic development project creates spin-off development. During the <br />construction phase, sub-contractors of all types will be needed, as will sign companies, pavers, <br />landscapers, etc. There will be ongoing spin-off through contracted services. In the case of <br />Suckhorn Village, Orange County landscaping contractors will have opportunities to bid on new <br />business. Some establishments may outsource security, maintenance, and other services. <br />Creating new opportunities for small and entrepreneurial businesses is an important aspect to <br />economic development and is inherent to projects of this size and nature. <br />Environmental Impact <br />This study did not include a full environmental impact review. However, the consulting <br />team did research whether any environmental permits were required. Other than standard <br />development permits such as storm water run-off and construction permits, the project will <br />require no special air or water quality permits beyond adhering to `Neuse River Rules.' <br />Sanford Holshouser 21 <br />
