ORANGE COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />ACTION AGENDA ITEM ABSTRACT <br />Meeting Date: June 3, 2008 <br />Action Agenda. <br />Item No. 3=~ <br />SUBJECT: Sanford Holshouser Economic Impact Analysis of the Buckhorn Village Project <br />DEPARTMENT: PUBLIC HEARING: (Y/N) No <br />ATTACHMENT(S): <br />Sanford Holshouser Report <br />(Under Separate Cover) <br />INFORMATION CONTACT: <br />Willie Best, 245-2300 <br />Craig Benedict, 245-2592 <br />PURPOSE: To receive the report as comment and evidence regarding Buckhorn Village <br />Planned Development and Special Use Permit. <br />BACKGROUND: In November, 2007 the BOCC authorized the Manager's Office to hire <br />Sanford Holshouser to conduct economic development services. <br />The Sanford Holshouser Business Development Group, LLC, is an economic development <br />consulting firm that provides action planning, site selection services, and unique strategies to <br />communities, organizations, and companies worldwide. <br />Sanford Holshouser has analyzed existing data submitted for the Buckhorn Village Planned <br />Development and .submitted the attached report. The Planning staff submitted the report and an <br />additional qualification document, on May 7 and May 9 respectively, to the Planning Board as <br />additional written materials to be considered in the Buckhorn Village PUD application process. <br />The author of this report is available for questions, if necessary. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: The cost of the study was funded through the Manager's Office. <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board receive the report, ask <br />questions, and otherwise as the Board decides. <br />
