<br />BACKGROUND: Over the past severa[ years, interested! GranQe County residents and
<br />supporters of honaring the canfitWions and service of Orange Counity veterans Ii e organized
<br />on an effort to raiSO fUnds, site and construct a Vetemns Meniorial ("Menioriial") within ran us
<br />County. In the past several months, these supporters have rais,ed, modest funds for this effort
<br />and have focused efforts, on siting the Memofial' i,,,n the hapel Hill" area, working in conjunction
<br />with Towiij of Chapel Hill staff.
