21 <br />1 Commissioner Pelissier said she attended the Legislative Breakfast for the Chapel Hill <br />2 Carrboro City Schools ( CHCCS). She said there was discussion regarding pending legislation, <br />3 but it was also an opportunity for the CHCCS Board to let the legislative delegation know some <br />4 of the efforts in which they are involved. She said there is statewide discussion about a pay <br />5 model for teachers but CHCCS want to move toward a performance based model as opposed <br />6 to getting increases in pay based on longevity. She said it was a very good discussion. <br />7 Commissioner Pelissier said Thursday is the Annual WCHL Radio Station forum, and <br />8 many of the Board of County Commissioners will be participating. <br />9 Commissioner Rich encouraged residents to call or email the Commissioners <br />10 individually to get factual information about issues rather than depending on blogs. <br />11 Commissioner Rich said she too attended the Junior Livestock Show and Sale for the <br />12 first time and had a good time, as did her son. <br />13 Commissioner Price said she attended the District Meeting for the North Carolina <br />14 Association for County Commissioners (NCACC) held in Durham, and it was interesting to hear <br />15 other commissioners talking about the same issues seen by the BOCC in Orange County. <br />16 Chair McKee added to Commissioner Rich's blog comment that he does try to forward <br />17 public emails to staff in an effort to obtain factual information with which to respond. <br />18 Chair McKee said this past Monday the Board had breakfast in Chapel Hill with about <br />19 one hundred members of the public. He said there was sort of an elected officials "speed <br />20 dating ", changing tables every so often in order to hear a variety of concerns and questions. <br />21 He said every table had questions and concerns, but no two tables had the same questions or <br />22 concerns.
