INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS <br /> A. Bids are to be submitted on the form enclosed in the specification booklet. Bidders were <br /> advised that line items and unit costs are listed and that costs are to be provided for all items. <br /> All blanks are to be filled in. <br /> B. Bid Bond required. <br /> C. Performance,and Labor and Material Payment Bonds are not required. <br /> D. Bidders advised to acknowledge all addenda on the Proposal Form. Failure to do so will not <br /> alleviate the contractor of responsibility for the items referenced in the addenda. <br /> E. Examination of Conditions - Bidders were advised to visit the sites and thoroughly <br /> familiarize themselves with all project conditions. Additional site visits can be arranged <br /> by notifying Jeff Thompson at 919/245-2625. <br /> F. Questions regarding the project will be accepted up until 72 hours prior to receipt of bids. <br /> IV. PROPOSAL FORM <br /> The Proposal Form is bound in the specification booklet and is to be utilized for submission of bids. <br /> Bids are to be effective for 60 days. <br /> Project time of 30 calendar days is noted on the Proposal Form. <br /> Form of Contract is bound within the specification booklet. <br /> V. INSURANCE <br /> Insurance limits are noted in the specifications. All insurance is to be in full force and effect prior to <br /> award of contract. Bidders were advised to note special requirements of Orange County. <br /> VI. SPECIFICATIOS <br /> Section 010100—Summary of Work <br /> Brief Summary of Work as follows: <br /> • Base bid is Sectors A and G;Alternate bid is Sectors E and F <br /> • Removing and disposing of existing roof system to include membrane, board insulation, <br /> flashings, and accessories down to the gypsum deck. <br /> • Replacement of wood nailers,blocking,and trim. <br /> • Furnishing and installing new board insulation; all insulation set in adhesive. <br /> • Furnishing and installing new polymer modified bituminous membrane roof system to <br /> include all related flashings and accessories. <br /> • Furnishing and installing new sheet metal flashing and trim to include coping, scuppers, <br /> counterflashing,and miscellaneous trim. <br /> • Modification of curbs and penetrations to provide flashing height of eight inches above <br /> finished roof membrane. <br />
