Currently the department utilizes two 5 -ton dump <br />trucks (one 1969 and one 1970 model). The larger capacity <br />body will allow staff time to be used more efficiently since <br />fewer trips will be required. <br />The vehicle is budgeted in the 1986 -87 budget. <br />A smaller, more efficient engine is the reason the bid alternate is less <br />expensive. <br />RECOMMENDATION: Award bid for the Alternate bid cab and chassis with <br />15 cubic yard dump body to Cardinal International for a sum <br />of $45,359.34. <br />
