01S <br />RESOLUTION <br />IN <br />SUPPORT OF THE FORMATION OF AN <br />ORANGE COUNTY HUMAN RELATIONS COMMISSION <br />WHEREAS, recent events in orange County have created the <br />risk of increased racial and ethnic tension, and <br />WHEREAS, focus from within and outside Orange County has <br />attempted to polarize groups of Orange County citizens, and <br />WHEREAS, the citizens of Orange County consider these <br />attempts at polarization to be deplorable, and <br />WHEREAS, the image presented by this limited group does <br />not adequately represent the views of the citizens of Orange <br />County, and <br />WHEREAS, the Orange County Board of County Commissioners <br />which represents the citizens of Orange County desires to <br />encourage mutual understanding and fair treatment of all <br />citizens, and <br />WHEREAS, the Orange County Board of County Commissioners <br />desires to encourage actions which reduces tensions among <br />groups of citizens in orange County, <br />THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Orange County Board <br />Of Commissioners hereby adopts a plan to form an Orange <br />County Human Relations Commission to seek these objectives <br />and encourages the cooperation of all County residents, and <br />BE IT ALSO RESOLVED that the charge, composition and <br />duties of the Commission shall be consistent with that <br />attached to this resolution. <br />IN WITNESS THEREOF, as Chair of the Orange County Board <br />Of Commissioners, I have hereunto set my hand and affixed the <br />Seal of the County of Orange this sixteenth day of June in <br />the year of our Lord nineteen hundred and eighty- seven. <br />Shirley E.
