12t <br />MOTION: Walters moved approval <br />Seconded by Yuhasz. <br />VOTE: Unanimous. <br />AGENDA ITEM #7: CHAIR COMMENTS <br />10 <br />with Staff recommendations. <br />a. Jacobs reminded the Board members_ about the Rural <br />Buffer Workshop proposed to be held at the Institute of <br />Government. <br />b. Rural Buffer. - Planning Board Decision <br />MOTION: Jacobs moved that the following statement be forwarded to <br />the Board of Commissioners: <br />The Orange County Planning Board supports the maintenance <br />of a green belt around Carrboro, Chapel Hill and <br />Hillsborough. Seconded by Best. <br />VOTE: 5 In favor. <br />2 opposed (Lewis and Yuhasz). <br />Jacobs asked how Staff was planning to deal with the <br />Stoney Creek proposal to be included with the Rural <br />Buffer. Collins responded that it was to be deferred <br />until the new fiscal year along with the update of the <br />Land Use Plan for Hillsborough Township and possibly Eno <br />Township. <br />Jacobs asked about information on the Harder property. <br />Collins responded staff has no information at this point <br />but would be forwarding information as it is received to <br />the Board members. <br />AGENDA ITEM #8: REPORTS <br />a. Environmental Affairs Board <br />Jacobs cited a report from the Environmental Affairs <br />Board and indicated that it sees sufficient need to <br />continue in its present capacity. <br />b. Low b Moderate - Income Housing Task Force <br />Jacobs stated that this task force would be meeting on <br />May 21 to hear presentations from development organiza- <br />tions and others involved in providing low and moderate <br />income housing. There is also a public corporation for <br />providing low Income housing located in Raleigh which <br />will be represented at this meeting. One of the main <br />topics for discussion will be the ways in which Orange <br />County policies and regulations limit the provision of <br />
