~~
Tethering Committee Meeting
July ll`~`, 2007
Page 2
Finally, it was agreed that the implementation period should be changed so that an adopted
amendment would become fully enforceable eighteen months after its adoption. The first
twelve months would be an education period prior to the ordinance becoming effective, and
the final six months would involve limited enforcement using only warnings.
Committee members agreed that once the approved changes were made, the report should be
presented to the ASAB for review and a decision as to whether it should be recommended to
the BOCC. It was further agreed that Bob Marotto and Margie Huggins would prepare a
final draft that would then be circulated by email to all Committee members for their
approval.
Meeting Adjourned 8:00 p.m.
The Orange County Tethering Committee Report and Proposal for Ordinance Amendment
(dated July 30`x', 2007) was subrriitted to the Animal Services Advisory Board and
subsequently .approved.
