~~
Tethering Committee Meeting
June 13" `, 2007
Page 2
There was a lengthy discussion of what should be the time limit for permissible tethering. This
discussion took into account the enforceability of different time limits, their implications and
affect for animal care, and whether they would reasonably accommodate responsible pet owners.
It was decided that three hours constituted the best time limit when considered from all angles
and thus should be the Committee's recommendation.
In addition, there was a discussion of whether required minimal kennel sizes .should be included
in the Committee's recommendation. The Committee decided that this was a critical issue but
that it could be left as separate issue to be considered by the Animal Services Advisory Board.
Finally, it was agreed that staff would prepare an unapproved working document for discussion
at the next meeting of the Tethering Committee.
Meeting Adjourned 8:00 p.m.
