2 <br />In accordance with North Carolina General Statute §136-44.8, "the board of county <br />commissioners may (i) concur in the construction program as proposed, or (ii) take no action, or <br />(iii) make recorrlmendations for deviations in the proposed construction program, except as to <br />paving projects and the priority of paving projects for which the board in order to make <br />recommendations for deviations, must vote to consider the matter at a later public meeting ..." <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: There is no direct financial impact associated with this item. <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board hold the public hearing to <br />discuss and receive comments regarding the 2008-2009 Secondary Roads Construction <br />Programs for Orange County, and concur with the proposed programs. <br />
